Just got back from the primary school class gathering, the first in 10 years. Turnout was surprisingly good as we managed to get around 15 people, which is pretty encouraging.
Dinner at Waraku was ok, but I think the most important part of the night was when we sat down and started recalling our childhood memories. Rachel brought the school “yearbook” and her old autograph book and we pored through it, trying to remember why we wrote certain things. Best friends, good friends, friends… Favourite food, drinks, actors, brands…… It was all good fun.
Its pretty amazing to see how some have changed so much over the years, while others look like they have no aged a single bit. I was rather stunned by a particular someone’s transformation, especially since it was someone I had least expected. I’m not going to name names or say if the change was for the better or worse, but I am pretty shocked.
Well, I guess 10 years is a long time and maybe I need to be more open to the fact that people do change. Perhaps, to them, I have changed too! Nonetheless, I’m looking forward to another gathering and hopefully this time it will not take another 10 years.
