DO NOT BUY L’Oreal De-maq’ Expert Elixir Concentrated Gel Make-Up Remover March 26, 2008

I’ve always liked L’Oreal products, which was why I tried very hard to control myself from reviewing this product. However, I realised that it was against my conscience not to talk about it.

About 1 1/2 months ago, I bought this…

Sounds damn pro right? Got the word ELIXIR leh… Just like the chinese word 仙丹 sia…

WRONG!!!

If you are reading this, please DO NOT buy it. This is like the worst L’Oreal product I have ever bought!

The auntie promoting it told me that with this, you only need ONE product to clean both your face and eyes. Furthermore, she said don’t need to use cotton pad anymore, just “搓, 搓, 搓” can liao.

WAH damn good right?! Don’t need to use cotton pad, only need 1 product, can save the environment and save money! (Actually never save alot coz the remover itself is quite ex) That was what I thought, until I used it.

Firstly, the thing has a funny smell. Not smelly, just funny.

Secondly, it stings! Which should not be the case for a product that is supposed to be for waterproof eye makeup right?!

Thirdly, after rubbing the elixir on to melt away the makeup, you’re supposed to add water to emulsify it. BUT! When this thing touches water, it turns milky and suddenly your vision is shrouded in a veil of white!! So, by the time you finish removing makeup from one eye, you have to do the other eye half-blind. When you finish both eyes, then you have to clean your face completely blinded. And it takes quite awhile for your vision to be clear again.

But nevermind all these. I can bear the pain and smell and temporary blindness if ta product is good. But the problem is – THE ELIXIR CANNOT REMOVE MAKEUP THOROUGHLY!!!

After I used the elixir and rinsed off, I still found mascara bits stuck on my lashes! And I took a cotton pad to wipe my face and there were remanants of foundation! Like OMG, I went through all that and I still end up with a half-clean face?!?!

The conclusion? Its just like what they say: When something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
