LOS ANGELES, US – Tired of living “la vida loca,” Latin American singing sensation Ricky Martin has become the father of twin boys through a surrogate mother and will take time away from his career to raise them, his spokesman said in a statement on Tuesday.

The boys were delivered “via gestational surrogacy,” but no further details were released.

“Ricky is elated to begin this new chapter in his life as a parent and will be spending the remainder of the year out of the public spotlight in order to spend time with his children,” said the statement issued by his New York-based spokesman.

 

Hmmmmm……… Sounds kinda fishy right? I mean, if you’re perfectly normal and wanna have kids, you can just… you know… have sex?

I guess all the ladies in the world will just have to live with the fact that we’ve lost yet another one to them. Such a pity though, coz he  SO DAMN FREAKIN’ HOT!

Caught this with the boyfriend and my brother (yes, odd combination I know) at Vivocity. Super crowded coz its a school holiday cum many ppl eat snake and took the day off to enjoy look weekend I think. So had to settle for 4th row from the front, which resulted in some very stiff necks!

Besides the poor seats, the movie was (suprisingly) nice. It started off real lame, with the highly publicised Singaporeans-pushing-down-ERP-gantries scene, which looked kinda fake due to low budget visual effects. And what I found funny was that when Mark Lee and Jack Neo was complaining about ERP, they referred it as “ERP”, but the signboard on the gantries which the Singaporeans pushed down read “EPR”!!! Haha… Scared of getting sued by LTA perhaps? Well, so much for freedom of speech.

Well, beyond the rather lame jokes and stale ideas which have been reoccuring quite often in Jack Neo’s movies, what I really enjoyed was the performance of the woman who played the 3 men’s mother. She is truly an excellent performer who brought to life the agony and pain that a mother felt when she realises that she was a burden to the family. When she had to sit on the toilet bowl and have her meals coz she cannot control her bowels, when she had to move from house to house coz none of her sons wanted to look after her full-time, when she didn’t even know she was sent to an old folks home and turned around to cry for her son to bring her back home………. And especially the last scene where she pulled out the tube from her mouth so as to end her life, so as to rescue her grand-daughter. Oh, and the bitchy mother-daughter duo was quite convincing too. Really felt like slapping the both of them for making the ah ma sleep next to the toilet.

Oh, and if you are planning to watch the movie, remember to look out for a chance to win a car! Haha shall not reveal too much. Lesser ppl know about it means higher chance for me to win! LOL. Ok tmr got interview with Bloomberg (again). Shall sleep now.

Ok, I know I’m supposed to be studying but my bf was such a dear that he bought tix, knowing that I wanted to catch this!

I was really looking forward to watching this coz the trailer looked promising and reviews were good too. And with the big heading “From the makers of Notting Hill and Love Actually”, how can it possibly go wrong right?

WRONG! The show, unfortunately, sucks. =(

Its a romantic comedy, but it was neither romantic nor comedic. The jokes were either not funny or delivered too fast and unclear by Ryan Reynolds (who plays the main character Will) such that no one could catch it.

The only saving grace was Abigail Breslin who played Will’s daughter Maya. She was witty, smart and funny and delivered her lines wayyyyyyyy better than Reynolds. I didn’t catch her in Little Miss Sunshine, but I’ve heard good things about her and it definitely showed during this movie.

And the weirdest thing was that, the only time the phrase “Definitely, Maybe” was mentioned was during this insignificant part midway through the movie. I mean, isn’t the movie title usually the central theme?

So my recommendation is, go catch it if you have the extra time and cash and there’s nothing else for you to watch (unless you’re interested in The Forbidden Kingdom, that is). If not, you’re better off watching channel 8 re-runs at home.

I was studying in the library today, listening to my iPod. I realised that I was always skipping through certain songs and in the end, I end up listening to the same old few songs.

And these favourites of mine had something in common – they were Pop songs. Yes yes, you may laugh your ass off… But I realised that the Pop songs that I grew up listening to are honestly the best music I’ve ever listened!

There’s no angst, no vulgarities, no singers lamenting about their pathetic lives or how the world is going to end. It was just plain, simple, happy Pop!

As cheesy as it sounds, I love to hear floppy blonde hair cuties with baby blue eyes (it was the thing back then) crooning about how I’ll Never Break Your Heart and that they will go Anywhere For You. I get swept off my feet as they treat me Like A Rose and tell me that I Do (Cherish You). I mean, who wouldn’t die if someone told them that God Must Have Spent A Lil More Time On You?! Basically, I guess what Pop songs does for me is to instill hope in me that there is someone out there who is willing to give me his 10,000 Promises that he will give All I Have To Give and that its all Because of You. Sighhh……  I Want It That Way!!!

Yes, I love the 90s and I love my boy bands!!! And I am not ashamed to say it out loud!

Easter holiday was spent at the movies with the cousins and my bf catching this!

As expected, the girls (which means me, my sis and zying) didn’t find it that nice. BUT the guys were like sooooooo into it and they found it damn cool/nice/awesome/______. My guy-vocab is rather limited.

I personally found the show rather…… tiring. Ok, I know its kinda weird to be using tiring but its the most apt word I could think of.

The show is only around 90 mins long and there is this critical 23 minutes. The selling point of the show is that this 23 mins is re-told EIGHT times so that you can see it happening from EIGHT different people’s point of views.

So everytime 1 person’s part ended, the whole thing literally rewinds back to 11:59.59 am and then it starts all over again. By the 3rd or 4th time, the audience were pretty tickled by it. There was a mix of sian sighs (including me) and amused laughters and huhs (mostly from kids). Pretty funny stuff. This is kinda why I like watching movies in big theatres coz you can soak in the audience’s moods and reactions.

After the movie we went for dinner at this new mala steamboat place at Vivo. Its rather secluded, tucked away in a corner just behind Hog’s Breath. But the view was nice. You can see the monorail coming and leaving and the entire Sentosa bridge.

Coz it was their first day of operation, it was only $13.90++ per pax. Normally it would cost like $23.80++ so we were pretty lucky. =) I found the food satisfactory. Not a very wide array of food, but the soup base was nice. Service was lacking in alot of areas, mainly coz they were understaffed. Oh, did I mention it was opened by Ah Tiongs?

Don’t think I’d be going back anytime soon coz not really worth $23.80. If everyday got promotion then I might consider. Haha… I sound like such a cheapskate. =P

Watched Rule #1 with dear this evening.

I was quite reluctant to because the trailer really spooked me out. Yes, I realised that the older I get, the more of a scaredy cat I’ve become. But the show wasn’t that scary and it had an interesting twist. A commendable effort by Kelvin Tong, I must say! 

What was odd about the movie was the pairing of Shawn Yue and Fiona Xie. I don’t know if its obligatory for the director to put a Singaporean in the show but I don’t see the purpose of Fiona Xie. She was dubbed by someone with a really squeaky and yet raspy voice. In her first scene, she was hugging Shawn Yue after he returned from the hospital and she was giggling and moaning (???) so much that I swear she was just plain horny. Interestingly, the next scene showed them in bed. -_-

And to think she was supposed to be a school teacher! From a convent school somemore!! The irony of it……

Oh but the highlight of that evening was not the movie, but the “live” show that was taking place in the cinema itself! Apparently, some secondary school kids are so poor and so cheapskate that a whole bunch of them can only afford TWO tickets. So, in order to share their riches, they decided to spend everything they have on the TWO tickets, let TWO people enter the theatre and then get them to open the exit door so that rest enter! Wow…. What an ingenious method right?

But lo and behold, Eng Wah people are not dumb afterall. Halfway through the movie, 2 malay guys came from the backdoor and asked to check their tickets. Of course, they could only produce 2, so they were brought to the staircase well to “talk”. Apparently, they can pretty much see everything and everyone from the screening room. Anyway, after the movie ended, we see the kids still there. With our friendly neighbourhood policeman. HAHA!

Moral of the story: Don’t be so cheapskate. Crime does not pay.

Caught this over the weekend.

In case you didn’t know, this show is a remake of the Hongkong movie “Jian Gui” which starred Angelica Lee Xin JIe. Unfortunately, this Hollywood remake is a major flop. The show was so bad that Jessica Alba could do little to heat things up (Except for the  moment she was naked in the shower, I guess.)

The story line is exactly the same as the Hongkong one, except they weren’t as scary. Maybe angmoh ghost just aren’t as scary as hongkee or thai ghosts.

Hongkee ah-ma ghost: “我好冻……”

Angmoh ah-ma ghost: “I’m freezing……”

This was the exact line from the movie. Somehow, the literal translation from canto to english just made that scene lose its oomph and scare factor. Oh, and they swopped the hongkee old-and-hunchbacked-ah-pek in the lift with a Hollywood not-very-old-but-very-tall-uncle. And instead of everyone dying in the last scene, Hollywood decided to make it a happy fairytale ending where everyone lives! (Alba managed to get everyone to leave their vehicles by saying the terrorists planted a bomb which freaked everyone. How apt.)

Like what the movie’s tagline said: Some things are better left unseen! How funny.

I am officially IN LOVE with this girl. She the most adorable little angel I have ever seen. Even her name is soooooooooooooo cute.

Oh, and did I mention she’s also one of the most talented 6 year old I have ever seen? Not only does she plays the piano so well (I think she started playing when she was 4 or 5) and studies classical music and jazz, she COMPOSES. YES! She can compose a tune in TEN  minutes!!!

Like, what was I doing when I was 6? Going to kindergarden, learning my ABCs and eating biscuits and milo, then going home to play with my barbie dolls. A long cry from her lor…

So the big secret is out – The photos are real. Or at least, that’s what I inferred from his apology.

It’s not that I have anything against casual sex, but I just don’t understand why people have to video/photograph the process. I mean, what’s the thrill of watching yourself on video?

And even if you had to take photos of yourself and your girlfriend(s) for keepsakes, at least delete them when you guys break up right? I mean, isn’t it very awkward that you still keep them and look through them every now and then when you guys are not together anymore?

But if you really will die without your photo collection, then use your common sense and store them in an external hard drive before sending your comp for repair! Like, duh right?
