Why guys won’t "go down" for girls April 22, 2008

Filed under: Pissifying, Stupid Things in Life — Min @ 10:34 pm

Read this from the Nov 07 issue of CLEO.

They surveyed guys regarding why they don’t want to -ahem- “go down south” for girls. The 2 most frequently quoted reasons were:

1. Girls’ vaginas smells funny/bad

And the editor’s solution? “There’s nothing feminine wash cannot help.” Ohhhh…… So we have to sterilise our vaginas so that you guys will be willing to please us? Like, as if guys’ dicks smell like roses.

If you think about it, when we girls pee, at least we wipe right? What about guys?! They just, like, fling it a little and then stick in back into their underwear. And let’s not forget that its a known fact that most guys have poorer hygiene practices than girls. But do we complain about smelly dicks?!?!

2. Hairy vaginas turn them off

And the editor’s brilliant advice is…… Get a Brazillian wax. Like, wow….. I didn’t even think of that. What a brilliant idea!!! -_-||

I am absolutely positive by now that the editor is a GUY. Like, hello?! A Brazillian wax is like freaking painful can?!?

And why must us girls get a wax when guys are even more hairy than us??? So girls must be cleanly shaven to be hygienic while guys’ abundance of hair represents their masculinity?

In conclusion, I think the whole article is plain bullshit and just another mean for guys to extend their chauvinistic and sexist tyranny over us. So you know what?! Big deal! Us girls don’t need guys to approve of us. If it is really such a bother for guys to please us, then by all means don’t. Don’t submit yourselves to such a compromising position just to make us happy.

But, obviously, you know what this means for you guys in return right?

Is he cheating? April 14, 2008

When you call your boyfriend and your boyfriend’s friend in the background shouts out, “XXX called ah?” coz he thinks that its some other girl who has just called, it obviously means something right???

Why was it his natural reaction to assume that I am someone else?! Why would he think its normal for another girl to call my boyfriend when its almost 12 am?! Its not as if he doesn’t know my boyfriend is attached!

And it doesn’t help that my boyfriend is always msging and calling and attends classes with this particular girl.

And he went out to meet her, without telling me. I caught him in the end, but honestly, what’s the point?

Maybe there is something going on. I really don’t want to be the last to know……

Why Singapore’s service standards remains low April 12, 2008

Filed under: Pissifying, Singapore — Min @ 11:43 pm

For the longest time, I’ve held high hopes that Singapore’s service sector would one day reach the level of other world-class states such as Japan and Hongkong.

Not because I’m a Singaporean, but because I was in the service line myself previously. And I am proud to say that I was never once fell below the standards my managers expected of me, simply because, deep inside, I wanted to serve people in the most polite and efficient manner I could.

So, there’s nothing difficult about raising the service level right? Its all about self-motivation right?

Well, that was what I thought until I realised that some people simply cannot be bothered. And, unfortunately, these others happen to be foreigners.

Ok, I’m not being racist or country-ist or whatsoever. But I honestly do think that if Singapore has to bring in foreigners to boost our service sector, at least hire Filipinos. I mean, at leat they are dedicated and polite.

On the other hand, although I am a Chinese myself, I really hate to see China-Chinese (aka ah tiongs) serving me. Why??? Simply because they don’t give a damn about their jobs!

Just look at the ah tiongs working in the canteen and cafe in NTU! The kitchen produces food that taste like animal feed and the service staff simply slap the food onto your plates as if we’re really cows and pigs!

Ok, you may think its a little too harsh to presume everyone is like that based on NTU’s standard. Then how about Cafe Cartel’s standard? Fair enough right?

I just had dinner there and sadly, the restaurant has changed its HR policy and decided to hire ah tiongs. Nevermind….

When I was ready to order, this ah tiong came to serve us. First thing he asked?!

“可以讲华语吗?”

-_-|| Like, obviously I CAN. I am a Chinese right?!? But I CAN doesn’t mean I WANT TO or HAVE TO right?!?!

And doesn’t Cartel emphasise on the fact that they might probably have to speak english while working? Like, duh right?? This is Cafe Cartel at Plaza Sing for crying out loud!! What will the poor ang mohs do?!?!

Sighhhh… Nevermind, I was in a nice mood so I let that pass. I had already written down my orders so all he had to do was to (1) flip to the correct page and (2) verify. Such a simple thing right?!

Unfortunately, this was beyond him and I had to step in to assist him. So, I had to (1) point at the order I wrote, (2) flip to the page and (3) point at the picture which had the same number.

You know what, until today, I had always thought Arabic numerals were UNIVERSAL! Well, apparently they must be using some other form of numbers in China.

And after he took our orders, the manager had to come back to us to verify our orders again, which is something I’ve never encountered at Cartel. See?? Duplication of work!! Waste of resources!!

Bottomline is, I think Singapore companies really need to reconsider the tradeoff between cheap labour and service quality man. I’m definitely not the only one who’s complaining about their poor service. If they really wanna work, the least they could do is to put in some effort, instead of slacking off and speaking to your customers in Chinese when your manager’s not looking.

And please don’t tell me that English is not their native language and cut them some slack blah blah blah. PLEASE lahhh… Look at the Filipinos, Indonesians etc. English is not their native language too! But at least they bother to try right?!

So what makes these ah tiongs think that they are in any manner superior to others such that they don’t have to put in any effort? If you ask me, I think it boils down to lazyness and nonchalence when it comes to their jobs.

I really hope Singapore does something about it. If not, we’ll soon have cashiers and waiters talking to us in Hokkien and Canto and Malay and Tamil!

Child abuse!!! March 31, 2008

Filed under: Pissifying, Singapore — Min @ 9:35 pm

I’m supposed to be studying but I really have to let this off my chest because I really really really think that this ah ma’s horrid action should be publicised!

The story goes like this: I was at a friend’s house doing project and on my way back from Rivervale Mall, there was this ah ma with her crying grandson. Nothing unusual about kids crying right?

When I walked closer, I saw the ah ma slapping the boy repeatedly on the cheeks! Its definitely not the slap-one-time-just-to-warn-you kinda. She was slapping him left right left right continuously!!!

And, of course, the poor boy wouldn’t stop crying. I mean, any normal human being wouldn’t stop crying after being slapped right?! So guess what the ah ma did?!?

SHE STUFFED TISSUE PAPER INTO HIS MOUTH!!!!!!

Like OMG isn’t that considered abuse?! Worse of all, she covered his mouth so that he couldn’t make noise and couldn’t spit the tissue out!!!

I was on the verge of rushing over to scold that ah ma already, but I’m a humchee Singaporean. Doesn’t she understand how serious it could be?! I mean, the boy could have choked!! And being an ah ma, shouldn’t she be experienced enough to know what to do? Zzzzz……

What ever happened to kind and caring grannies who would bake you cookies and read you a story? :(

NBS students beware! March 27, 2008

Filed under: Food, Misfortunate Events, Old Times, Pissifying — Min @ 3:26 pm

Remember this?

27-03-08_1234

Yup, from the good ol’ primary school days. Found it in a vending machine at NBS and was so excited about trying it to rekindle the lost feelings!

When I opened the packaging, I was kinda… disappointed. Somehow I remember the cake to be bigger than this? But good things come in small packages right?

Sadly, it wasn’t the case. After I took one bite, there was a slight sourish after-taste. Hmmmm…. Didn’t remember it tasting like this 10 years ago. Unsure of whether it was my tastebuds or my memory was the one failing me, I took another bite.

This time around, I was pretty sure it wasn’t my tastebuds or my memory. So I took a closer look at the cake and I saw………. MOULD!!!

YES, MOULD ON MY CAKE!!! THE CAKE THAT I TOOK TWO BITES FROM!!!

No pictures of the mould though, coz I immediately dumped it in the bin. But it was white and look like strands on cotton. Was pretty sure it wasn’t sugar (as suggested by Hanyee) coz it was isolated to one part and I don’t remember sugar on the cake.

OMG I so wanna complain but sadly I have no picture evidence of the mould. Cheat my feelings (and my 60 cents)……. I was so eager to get in touch with my inner child and yet they try to poison me!!! Stupid Malaysians!!! PISSIFYING!!!

DO NOT BUY L’Oreal De-maq’ Expert Elixir Concentrated Gel Make-Up Remover March 26, 2008

Filed under: Beauty, Pissifying — Min @ 10:38 pm

I’ve always liked L’Oreal products, which was why I tried very hard to control myself from reviewing this product. However, I realised that it was against my conscience not to talk about it.

About 1 1/2 months ago, I bought this…

L’Oreal De-maq’ Expert Elixir Concentrated Gel Make-Up Remover

 image

Sounds damn pro right? Got the word ELIXIR leh… Just like the chinese word 仙丹 sia…

WRONG!!!

If you are reading this, please DO NOT buy it. This is like the worst L’Oreal product I have ever bought!

The auntie promoting it told me that with this, you only need ONE product to clean both your face and eyes. Furthermore, she said don’t need to use cotton pad anymore, just “搓, 搓, 搓” can liao.

WAH damn good right?! Don’t need to use cotton pad, only need 1 product, can save the environment and save money! (Actually never save alot coz the remover itself is quite ex) That was what I thought, until I used it.

Firstly, the thing has a funny smell. Not smelly, just funny.

Secondly, it stings! Which should not be the case for a product that is supposed to be for waterproof eye makeup right?!

Thirdly, after rubbing the elixir on to melt away the makeup, you’re supposed to add water to emulsify it. BUT! When this thing touches water, it turns milky and suddenly your vision is shrouded in a veil of white!! So, by the time you finish removing makeup from one eye, you have to do the other eye half-blind. When you finish both eyes, then you have to clean your face completely blinded. And it takes quite awhile for your vision to be clear again.

But nevermind all these. I can bear the pain and smell and temporary blindness if ta product is good. But the problem is – THE ELIXIR CANNOT REMOVE MAKEUP THOROUGHLY!!!

After I used the elixir and rinsed off, I still found mascara bits stuck on my lashes! And I took a cotton pad to wipe my face and there were remanants of foundation! Like OMG, I went through all that and I still end up with a half-clean face?!?!

The conclusion? Its just like what they say: When something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

One day I’m gonna die in a cab March 16, 2008

Filed under: Pissifying, Singapore, Stupid Things in Life — Min @ 12:15 am

I was reading the special report on Formula One in the Today paper and I realised something – Why don’t Singapore send our own race team? I even have the perfect candidates. They are none other than our very own taxi drivers.

I’m not kidding. Judging from the way those drivers maneuver their cars, I think we have a pretty darn good chance there. I just encountered 1 this evening. He was weaving in and out like nobody’s business (I felt like telling him that weaving back and forth between lanes DOES NOT get you to your destination faster. Its just an illusion. See here.)

Me (to my bf): “I think got high possibility I might die in the cab. He likes to cut in and out.”

Bf: “Then you must buckle up your seatbelt k”

Me: “I buckled up so long ago le. From the moment I heard him listening to “Piece of Me” (Britney Spears) techno version I buckled up le.”

Not that buckling up helps. Ever since I got my licence and became a driver myself, I feel damn uncomfortable sitting in the back seat. I can’t sit still and every now and then I peer over to see how close he is from the car in front. All that goes through my mind is ohmygawdifthatcarjambrakeswe’redead and ohshitohshitcanhecutintothatlane and i’mnotgonnamakeithomealive. Most of the time its the last thought. Throughout the whole ride my heart was jumping as fast as the meter and by the time I reach home,  I feel like throwing up from the tension and lack of oxygen. This is really called paying money to suffer man. Zzz……

Please take your basic theory test again March 12, 2008

Filed under: Pissifying — Min @ 10:16 pm

I am SO PISSED!!! Its already such a terror to be driving on the roads these days, with the torrential rain and all. And then there had to be such stooooooooooopid drivers on the road who like to cut other people’s lane without signaling. Like, wtf man!

To you: First and foremost, lemme tell you this – YOUR CAR IS FUCKING UGLY OK??? I mean, who drives a WHITE Volvo?? Its not normal classy white, mind you. Its luminous ghost-white. Yes, you may be rich and you may think that driving a Volvo means you have the right to bully people like me in a dingy Mitsubishi. But sadly you have absolutely no taste!!

Secondly, I had the right of way! I saw the cab about to turn into the petrol station and so there was a window for me to spin out of the petrol station. I stayed in my own lane and did not cut into the outer lane, so what makes you think that you can cut into my lane and in front of me from the outer lane and still think you are right?!?! And let me remind you that (1) you did not signal and (2) you did not change lanes earlier, so how the hell am i supposed to know that you want to change lanes?! I am not psychic ok!!

Lastly, just coz you think you are right does not mean you can stop your stupid car in front of mine and block the entire road. Like, what do you want? A confrontation? Siao! Just move and get on with your life loser!

I cannot imagine there are so many idiotic drivers around. They think that just coz I am a female driver I can be bullied is it?!?! You bloody drivers better stay outta my way from now on!!!

Especially you, you gay white Volvo!! You better not lemme see you ever again or else I am going to ask the TP to revoke your stupid driver’s licence (if you even have one)
