Wake up and smell the…… moolah? November 16, 2008

Can’t believe it has been 2 months since I last blogged! Also means that I have been working for 2 months already. Which also means that I’ve not been sacked yet! Woots!!

 

Well, working life is actually turning out to be not too bad, but that’s largely due to the fact that Claire joined the company on the same day as me and there are a whole bunch of other new hires as well. Got to know other ntu ppl whom I never knew existed (despite the face that we have quite alot of common friends!!) such as Alicia and Maybs, so everything’s real cool. I heart Bloomberg!

 

Of course, the best part of working is the MOOLAHSSSSSSSSSSSSS……………… Hehe… But that has also made me realise that I am seriously lacking in SELF-CONTROL. Which is not good.

 

BUT BUT BUT… A girl has to pamper herself after a long day of work right?? I mean, its only right isn’t it? Can’t possibly be like one of those aunties who don’t even bother to put on any makeup when they go to work mahh. Making yourself look nice is a form of respecting yourself and others (Sounds familiar, dunno where I heard that before).

 

 

Anywhos, sharing with you what I have bought/did so far!

 

 

1. Clinique’s 3 step program

 

 

 

I’ve always wanted to upgrade myself from those over-the-counter facial products and I heard not-bad reviews about Clinique so I decided to give it a shot. Well…….. My face is clean, but I’m not going gaga over it yet. Probably not gonna replenish.

 

 

2. Benefit Beauty Uppers

 

 

I entered the store with an intention to get a blusher only and I ended up with this! Packaging is irresistably cute and, surprise surprise, their products are actually not too bad!

 

Dandelion is (supposedly) a face powder which the salesgirl told me that I could use for touchups. I was a lil skeptical since the powder is PINK (although she claimed its colourless) but I followed her instructions anyway and brushed it across my face to touch up. SO WRONG! At the end of the day I looked like I had been gone suntanning for 12 hrs and got severely burnt. So now I just use it as a blusher.

 

You Rebel Lite is a tinted moisturiser with SPF 15. Not too shabby, coverage is quite good and it manages to correct your skin tone to be just right.

 

Benetint is a lip and cheek tint, just like what Bodyshop used to have in the good ol’ days. It has rose extract (smells like bandung) and is supposedly good for the skin. I’ve never been a fan of liquid tints so its alright.

 

 

3. Browhaus Brow Construction package

 

Yes yes, I got conned into another one of these packages. But considering that brow tweezing is something I am definitely gonna be doing consistently, I find it a worthwhile investment! And its Browhaus LEH.

 

 

4. Chapter 2 rebonding

 

Yups, I finally rebonded my hair after talking about it for so long. Good part? Hair is straight and not as thick as before. The payoffs? Dry damaged frizzy ends that drives me crazy. And working in an air-conditioned office does not exactly help.

 

 

 

Well, these are all that I can recall. Of course there are the shoes, clothes etc that I did not bother to list. But what I am most excited about is *drumrolls* ……….

 

 

Its not exactly mine yet because I am still deciding if its worth $325.38. Some Singaporean in the U.S can help me buy it at 25% discount and ship it over, but with a handling fee of course. Still much cheaper that buying locally, which costs abt $460 I think. HOW HOW HOW??? Its so drop dead gorgeous and I am in desperate need of a new wallet and now got 25% discount and I don’t want a Coach or a LV like the 568,929,319,831,092 other ppl in the world has. AND SINGAPORE HAS NO MORE STOCK OF THIS BLACK VERSION!!!

My wishlist March 26, 2008

Since I would be a working professional soon (hopefully), I realised that its time to contribute back to the family.

 

Which is why I think its apt to start a shopping list of things I wanna buy when I have the moolah.

 

1. For my brother

• PS3/Wii/Xbox
• iPod
• Professional camera

2. For my sister

• Crumpler bag
• iPod

3. For the family

• High definition TV
• New washing machine
• New paint job
• New sofa
• New dining set

4. For dear dear

• PS3 (provided he does not get one by then)
• PDA phone
• More Man U stuff
• Lots and lots of love!!! Lol.

 

Judging from the list of things, I think I need to earn $10k a month. What’s more, this list is not exhausive and does not include what I wanna buy for myself. Which is ALOT. LOL.

 

Better start looking for a job now if I wanna fulfil all these.

Should I get the W910i? March 26, 2008

Dear offered to buy me a W910i.

 

 

Super slim and only 86g!

 

Omg isn’t it just drop dead gorgeous?!

I saw it on display at Singtel and I immediately fell in lurve with it. Its new interface is uber cool too. AND IT IS IN RED!!! Like, what more can I ask for?!?

But unfortunately, the reviews have not been as kind. Critics say the keypad is rather poorly designed and the sub-par camera is disappointing. Which is kinda sad coz I prefer camera functions over walkman functions, since I already have an iPod.

And it also suffers from the ultimate gripe of all handphone users – IT HANGS! At least, that’s what most of the CNET users say.

Sighhhhhh….. So I guess its just another pretty looking thing? Such a pity though. =(

Sebum, be gone! January 30, 2008

Went for a long-due manicure with wendy just now at JP. Unfortunately, it wasn’t such an enjoyable trip as it used to be, largely because it’s the cny peak period and they were packed. (According to the lady, the next available appointment date is Thurs morning!)

So we were forced to sit near the entrance at some make-shift manicure station and had to leave early before our nails were dried properly. Zzzz… So wen and I walked around with our hands clasped in front of our chests so that no one could knock into our nails! Haha we looked like a bunch of retards. What was even more retarded was us trying to hold the fork at Swensen’s such that our nails wouldn’t touch. (Lian hua zhi!!!)

Went shopping at my favourite place – Watson’s. Lol. Bought body scrub (to remove the decade old grim and scum from my body) and this:

TSURURI DEEP CLEANSING CREAM WITH HYALURONIC ACID

Contains thermal ingredient Power Zone (Zeolite) and moisturising ingredients Botanical Hyaluronic Acid.

Massage in a circular motion for 60 seconds over problematic areas with blackheads, roughness like nose, chin, forehead

Thermal ingredients open up pores, Cream mixes with impurities and MELTS it away

 

Ok, I didn’t quite feel the sebum melt away, but I definitely felt the heat when I was rubbing. It was quite hot actually! Felt abit like when you put medicated oil kinda feeling. And the areas where I massaged does feel a little smoother. Then again, if you had to rub an area for 60 seconds, it would naturally feel smoother right? I dunno… Will have to experiment a few more times.

 

Note: Didn’t notice the fine prints that said the thermal ingredients can cause nail polish to whiten or peel off. Guess I’ll have to stop using for now.

Shopping makes me a happy happy girl! January 23, 2008

Haha finally managed to get my cny shopping done. Got a skirt and a dress (!!!)  today. Yup, you heard me – A DRESS. Like, whooooaaaaaaaaaaa, wait a second here. Simin in a dress? No way!

Haha ok lah its not like a fancy dress or anything. Just a simple black dress. Yah, I know its against tradition to wear black but there weren’t many choices. And black has a slimming effect (which I no doubt need desperately.)

Really love my dear alot coz he accompanied me from PS to Wisma so that I could get my shopping done, despite the fact that he was really sleepy and tired and still had to take the bus home. I LOVE YOU!!! Muacks! =)
